Japan Fashion Island(コスプレ大会)
おまもり＆うちわワークショップ

The first annual "AWA ODORI" DANCE FESTIVAL will be held on June 25th (Sat.) from 11:00am - 6:00pm at Hudson Square Exchange and nearby streets in Tribeca. The event will showcase the beauty and culture of Shikoku - the smallest of the four main islands in Japan - and hopes to promote greater understanding and communication between the two countries and its people. 

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to assist the recovery and reconstruction following the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11th. In addition, we would like to send a message to New Yorkers that Japan remains strong and that visitors are welcome!

The festival will feature:

Performances:
- Awa-Odori dance 
- Shamisen (a traditional Japanese string instrument) by Mr. Yukio Koma
- Wadaiko drum by Mr. Ryota Kataoka
- Tap dance by Ms. Yuka Kameda
- Gagaku

Shikoku Gourmet:
- SANUKI udon noodles and a noodle making performance
- Japanese croquettes
- Sake

Activities:
- Northeast Japan paraphernalia
- Japanese masks and cotton candy
- Japanese good luck charm making workshop
- Face painting
- Silent auction
and much, much more.
